The 2010 Leavers reunion over KDay Weekend 12 - 14 June 2020 has been postponed.
Dear Old Andreans
Following the recent measures that President Ramaphosa has put in place to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, all of our boys were sent home last week and are being taught via an on-line distance teaching model. We are really encouraged by how well both staff and boys have taken to this approach, and are hoping to end the term with a full set of marks and reports. As things stand, we anticipate that the Trinity Term will commence as planned, although this is contingent upon developments in the management of the pandemic and we have contingency plans in case of further disruption to the programme.
In light of the above and the fact that the next couple of months remain uncertain, we have had to review all our Old Andrean events and celebrations, locally and internationally.
Taking into consideration a number of factors, we have taken the following decisions:
All Branch functions are postponed to the second half of the year, should circumstances allow for this.
The Big Reunion (Matric Leavers from the classes of 1980, 1990, 1995, 2000), scheduled for 22-24 May, will not take place as planned.
Similarly, the 10 Year Reunion (Matric Leavers from 2010), scheduled over the K-Day weekend in June, has also been postponed.
The good news is that these reunions will be hosted in 2021 so that everyone who would have celebrated in 2020 will join those year groups celebrating in 2021. Details of these events will be communicated in due course.
We appreciate the disappointment around the above announcements, and we trust that we have your support considering the circumstances in which we find ourselves.
At this stage, we anticipate that the St Andrew's Tide weekend, incorporating the 50-year and 60-year Leavers' Reunion will take place in November.
